About Alpacas at Cloud Ranch, LLC

Just a stone's throw from the Canadian border in central Washington along the Okanogan River Valley, we enjoy lakeside views of Osoyoos Lake in Oroville. Being off the beaten path, we make stopping by worth your while by offering remote-ranch prices and down-to-earth stud fees.
Getting into Alpacas
A photo of an alpaca in an Alaska Air flight magazine set off some intuition bells and the next thing I knew, I had visited one of the largest alpaca farms in the industry . . . not once, but TWICE!!
A year later, while recuperating from knee surgery, and in desperate need of an outing, I decided to take my mother to visit the alpaca farm . . . again!! Still wobbly on my crutches, I could only admire the corralled fluffy creatures from a distance.

All of a sudden a voice blurted out, "I'll take that grumpy chocolate brown one, the tan one, and that grouchy black one, too." Did I say that?? I didn't even get to touch them!
Before the papers could be signed, I heard my mother's voice: "I think I'll buy one, too. I'll take the white one." And so began Alpacas at Cloud Ranch, a family partnership, in the fall of 1997.
Now, truly, we don't recommend this as a method for buying alpacas! But we will say, "Walk, trot, or run to an alpaca ranch (real or in cyberspace)." Alpacas are magical and it seems to rub off in large doses. Our alpacas have changed our lives in very profound ways, and we're glad to be part of the extended alpaca family of owners and breeders.
